Overview

This Highfield's Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) accredited course has been designed to provide the knowledge and skills required to enable any person working or living within a childcare environment to provide effective emergency paediatric first aid.

  • Understanding the role of a First Aider

  • The need for reporting accidents

  • Caring for an unconscious casualty

  • Performing CPR

  • Blood loss and shock

  • Burns and scalds

  • Disorders of the airway

  • Poisoning

  • Bone injuries

  • Major medical conditions (including the administration of aspirin and epinephrine)

  • Theory & Practical Elements Included.

 

Who Should Attend

For anyone looking after infants or children, this course will give you essential knowledge on the First Aid treatment of infants and children in an emergency. Whether a parent or a professional (childminder, nursery and pre-school worker, sport and leisure staff etc.), the knowledge you will gain upon completion of this course is invaluable.

If you are required to meet the First Aid criteria of the EYFS, you will need to acquire the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Qualification.
